YMCA Text Kitchen Summer Camps

Camps are open for students entering 4^th through 8^th grades in the fall. All camps are free of charge.  A donation of $100 is appreciated to cover the cost of the camp.

Are you ready to jump into the past and explore the daily life of Sauk and Fox Indians and settlers and their children in the 18^th and 19^th century?  Discover what life was really like in Iowa during these hands-on adventures!

Each day of this 2-day camp, is designed to include a visit to historic sites in Fort Madison, make crafts from the past, participate in history-related activities, enjoy great food from the past and have lots of fun!

Snacks and/or lunch will be provided to students at the sites and at the YMCA Test Kitchen.

Participants will need to bring a water bottle, a hat, sunscreen, and walking shoes.

Dates:  June 6 & 7

Time:  9:30 AM- 1:00 PM

Through this 3-day cooking camp your child will learn to create with confidence, learn to take control without fear, and learn the art of decision making. The recipe for our cooking camp is: 3 cups of fun, 1 cup of laughter, 2 tbsp of skill building, ½ cup of social skills, ½ cup of confidence, and Math & Science to taste.

Snacks and/or lunch will be provided to students at YTK.

Dates: Camp 1 (3 Day camp) June 20, 21, 22

           Camp 2 (3 Day camp) July 18, 19, 20

This 3-day camp is open to students of all skill levels! Beginners are welcome.  Day 1 participants will design a car alarm system to save pets from overheating. Day 2 we will model the electrical activity of a four-chambered heart using coding.  The theme for day 3 is “Rover, watch out for Rover!”

Snacks and/or lunch will be provided to students at YTK.
