The Y is a cause for strengthening community. That’s why we’re here working with you everyday, making sure that you, your family, and your community have the resources and support you need to learn, grow, and thrive. The Fort Madison Family YMCA is the place for you!
Dear YMCA members,
The safety and well-being of our members, staff, volunteers and the Fort Madison community is of utmost importance and remains to be our priority, now more than ever. Thank you for being part of the Y and for all you are doing to support the greater good as we all face this unprecedented health challenge.
While there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at any Y facility, we need to be part of the nationwide effort to slow the spread of the virus and help protect our community in every way we can. Things have been changing daily, even hourly with this pandemic. We made changes yesterday to our policies but as of late Monday night more changes were made; requesting groups to be no greater than 10 and more businesses are being urged to close. For the safety of our community we are listening to these recommendations. For that reason, we have decided to close our facility effective, Tuesday March 17. This will include 24 hour access to the facility.
This temporary closure will have very real financial consequences, however, as we intend to continue employment for our full-time staff during this challenging time. We will rely heavily on the continued support of members, program participants and donors. Therefore, we ask that if you are able, please continue to pay your monthly Y membership dues and enroll in future programming. This will ensure the Y is able to provide services when this crisis has passed.
We continue to closely monitor this situation to determine the need for any changes to this plan, and will continue to keep you updated via our website and social media channels.
To help you stay healthy in spirit, mind and body during this time, we are offering an on-demand healthy living network called YMCA 360 at no charge to all Y members. To access this content visit our website www.fortmadisony.org and click the link YMCA360.org. Content will be refreshed frequently and includes programs for kids and families.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank our members for their patience and understanding.
